We’ve just added the ability to sort by rank change. When you click the heading of one of the search engine columns you get different sort options. So, it goes like this…
1st click: sorts by rank descending (from 1 – 100 – not ranking)
2nd click: sorts by rank ascending (from not ranking – 100 – 1)
3rd click: sorts by rank change descending (from -100 – 0 – +100)
4th click: sorts by rank change ascending (from +100 – 0 – -100)
This is what you get when you click the Bing column three times.

Figuring out what terms your competition is trying to rank for can be a great way to find keywords to target. If you know what to look for, it’s pretty easy figure out. When analyzing the competition, though, make sure THEY know which terms to target. If they do, the quickest thing to look at is the title tag.
Many times important terms will be included within the title tag. I took a look at the top 5 brands that came to mind within the consumer wireless industry. Here are their title tags…

We’ve been working day and night over the weekend to get everything moved over to Amazon smoothly. It didn’t go as smoothly as we had hoped though. Yesterday we had problems that could be resolved by today, so there are going to be issues with your account.
Thanks for your patience as we work through this.

An update on #tweetsforboobs, but first … thanks for everyone’s participation so far. You all have been amazing!!! Keep it up!
How #tweetsforboobs Started (if you’re curious)
We’re really happy to be involved with the #tweetsforboobs twitter campaign for breast cancer awareness. At the beginning of September I decided I wanted to do something non-profit oriented on Twitter. I bounced the idea off of my buddy Josh Strebel, he liked it and reminded me that October is breast cancer awareness month. I have a few women very close to me who are currently fighting breast cancer or have survived it. Because of that, I really wanted to see if we could make something work, on Twitter, to 1) help raise awareness, and 2) generate donations. A few days later we bought the domain tweetsforboobs.org and started putting things in motion.

Ha … Google’s changed their logo to a barcode! I fired up the Barcode Scanner app on my G1 to decrypt it and guess what, it’s Google in barcode.
I’d been making some updates to the blog and loaded up Google (because it’s my default page). It’s hard to miss, but there
Turns out the original barcode patent was filed October 7th, 1952 by Wallace Flint.

Update: Things are back to normal now.
Early this morning the process that pulls yesterday’s ranking data into the interface was delayed about five hours. Your account may look wonky, and be really slow, until this completes. It should be soon, but I just wanted to let everyone know what was going on. We do have your data, it just may not look like it at the moment. Everything will be back to normal in a few hours. Thanks for your patience.
Since we’re talking backend things at the moment … might as well update everyone on what we’re working on. For the last few weeks we’ve been updating the entire architecture to be much more reliable, flexible and scalable. Part of this process is getting everything on Amazon’s cloud. We’ve been on Slicehost up until now, but are running into some issues with them, as you may have noticed today
Amazon will not only allow us to scale the way we aggregate and process your data, but they also provide us with quite a few utilities to take advantage of in the process.
Again … thanks for your patience as we make this transition. Things will be a LOT better here shortly!
