We’ve been working hard to build the things our customers have said they want. These are what we’ve been working on, and as of today, have enabled for all accounts…
AdWords Search Volume Data

We’ve been working with the AdWords API for a while. Everyone has had average global monthly search volume figures for Google in their .csv exports, but just now we enabled them in the interface. Next to the Google ranking data you’ll see the corresponding monthly search volume for each keyword. This data can help you get an idea of how much a keyword is searched for. It’s been known to be only somewhat accurate, but really helps for getting a relative idea of how much traffic a search term can drive.
Keyword Tagging

Since we launched people have been asking for a way to organize their keywords within a domain. Keyword tagging makes this possible. We went with a tag structure because we wanted a keyword to be able to belong to multiple groups. Organizing your keywords, so relevant keywords are in the same group helps provide insight into how similar keywords are performing as a whole. So … you can basically organize your AuthorityLabs account just like you would a PPC campaign. You can also use tags to organize keywords into time oriented groups. Lets say, for October, you plan on implementing a backlink and content strategy around a set of keywords. With keyword tagging you can get all those terms you’re focusing on into one group, then in November, come back and see the overall affect of your efforts, at-a-glance.
Calculating Change Data Differently

Next to all your ranking data is the change in rank from the previous day. Meaningful ranking changes aren’t going to occur from day to day, so you can now calculate that change data from a week ago, a month ago or three months ago. Customizing this can give you a better idea of the performance of a keyword vs. different time frames.
So … what do you think?

Hi Chase, is there any way to see Google search volumes for the territory associated with the tracked keywords. For example if you are tracking rankings for keywords in the US, you would be interested in search volumes for the US; if you are doing the same for Canada, you should have the option to view search volumes for Canada.
The difference in volume can be surprising, and not just dictated by market size. In another example, search volume for the a keyword phrase that includes ‘vacation’ will see much higher numbers in the US, than in the UK, where as search volume for ‘holiday’ will see the high numbers in the UK, rather than the US.
Being able to see localized search volume is vital to being able to make accurate assessments, and to place a value upon site rankings within search results.
Hey Gautama … that will be there soon. We’re collecting all that data, just iterating on the best way to keep it updated and get new data every month from the AdWords API.
