Hope you enjoyed the quiz and it didn’t make your knees shake too much. Compare the answers you wrote down with the ones below to see where you rank.

  1. D
A big ranking factor for local businesses is their business information. Local businesses need to have NAP information listed on online directories in order for Google and search engines to populate correct business information to searchers, like hours, phone number, etc.. Online reviews can also affect a local business’ rankings and how often their clicked on with ratings being displayed in search engine results. The more reviews, especially positive reviews, the better.
  2. C
In terms of SEO, any type of content that contains relevant keywords is valuable content that can help a business rank. One type of content isn’t necessarily more beneficial over the other. It comes down to producing the type of content that provides a solution to what people are searching for. Without being stuffy, keyword-rich content allows search engines to pair relevant results to searchers.
  3. C
Sure, images with people in them are nice. But, if the image is broken and doesn’t display correctly, the Alt Tag saves the day! Plus, it’s a great place to throw in another keyword or two.
  4. A
There’s plenty of ways a business can rank for it’s company name, but one of the simplest is to have the company name throughout the website. This means stating the company name multiple times throughout the homepage, and on the rest of the pages. You really want to get it through a search engines “head” what and who your business is so they chose your website when looking to provide relevant solutions.
  5. D
Mobile optimization means your website needs to load fast on mobile, is just as functional on mobile as it is on desktop, and the design is responsive so it moves and adjusts itself based on it’s placement. Without proper mobile optimization, your business will lower it’s rankings.
  6. D
A new website will start ranking as soon as it goes LIVE, but it can take a website 3 to 6 months to fully rank on Google.
  7. B
Ultimately, the best way to earn links isn’t by praying to the link gods or by putting on a black cap. The easiest and most efficient way to earn links is by building relationships that allow you to share your content with relevant websites. This could be in the form of infographics, blog content, tools, case studies, reviews, resource lists, press releases, etc.
  8. D
You go through all of the trouble doing keyword research, why not be efficient at where you place your keywords? A website should have keywords places all over it, but of course in a readable manner. It’s not a great user experience if every headline read like, “Why keyword, did keyword, at keyword, keyword.” It is a great user experience, and will help with rankings, if your headline reads like, “Why keyword can help you solve your keyword problem.”
